We are proud to share the results of our latest Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspection, carried out in February 2025, which confirms that all regulatory Standards are met — from quality of education to safeguarding, leadership and early years.

We are proud to share the results of our latest Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspection, carried out in February 2025, which confirms that all regulatory Standards are met — from quality of education to safeguarding, leadership and early years.

The inspection reflects the hard work, dedication and spirit of our entire school community, and we’re delighted to see so many aspects of school life recognised and celebrated.

Strong Progress and Happy Learners

Inspectors found that pupils across the school are making strong progress. The curriculum is broad and engaging, and children are encouraged to think creatively, work independently and apply their learning in meaningful ways.

“Pupils gain the knowledge and skills they need to be successful and to gain entry to senior and secondary schools of their choice.”

From mathematics and literacy to music, cooking and martial arts, the school offers a wealth of opportunities for every child to flourish.

Behaviour and Wellbeing

St Francis pupils were described as “considerate and thoughtful”, with a clear understanding of expectations and values. The report highlights the calm, respectful environment across the school, where children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

“Pupils behave well... because they understand the rules and why they are necessary.”

“Pupils reflect on their actions when they make mistakes because teachers are clear and consistent.”

Our emphasis on emotional development, kindness and resilience is a big part of what makes our school special.

A Wonderful Start in Early Years

The Little Saints Nursery and Reception class also received strong praise. Inspectors noted the quality of learning, relationships and outdoor exploration, with children described as “happy, engaged and thriving.”

“Children play in a safe and exciting environment... and form strong bonds with nurturing staff.”

“The early years provision is good... children develop their independence and curiosity.”

From walks along the canal to feeding guinea pigs and naming spring flowers, every day offers something new for our youngest learners.

Moving Forward with Pride

We are grateful to our staff, children and families for their ongoing support and contribution to such a positive report. It reflects our shared commitment to creating a warm, ambitious, and inspiring environment for all.

Headteacher David Lee said:

“We’re incredibly proud of the whole school community. This report reflects the energy, care and high standards that define everyday life at St Francis.”
