Head reads to The Nursery

Most schools will tell you that the Head spends as much time with the smallest as the biggest pupils, but it is very rare that that extends to story time in the Nursery.

Not so at St Francis, where David Lee, Head at the Pewsey-based Prep School spent his Monday morning reading to the pupils in “Acorns” Class (the toddler room). Armed with some of his three sons’ cherished childhood books (including, of course, The Very Hungry Caterpillar), Mr Lee spent an hour reading to some of his smallest pupils.

Nursery Manager, Maria Urbieta-Myers explained “As educationalists, we know how important it is for our pupils to interact with a wide variety of adults, whilst also maintaining a core group of key workers. We are lucky to be part of the Prep School, and to have a wide range of staff who are brilliant storytellers and take the time to visit our Nursery pupils.”

Little Saints, the Nursery part of St Francis School, will be holding an Open Morning on Thursday 23rd February between 9:30am and 11:30am; if you would like to book please email nurseryad@stfpewsey.co.uk
