Bertie heads to Oxford

Ex-Franciscan Bertie is accepted to Trinity College, Oxford.

As they celebrate even more scholarships among their 2023 leavers, St Francis are also celebrating the academic achievements of someone who left a little while ago.

Ex-Franciscan (and old Head Boy) Bertie Low has just been accepted to Trinity College, Oxford to study Classics.

Bertie left St Francis to take up a place at Eton, where he was awarded the highly-coveted (and incredibly prestigious) Oppidan Scholarship. The Oppidan Scholarship is awarded to an Eton boy who has distinguished himself academically; in order to be eligible you must have either received four distinctions at the internal examinations, or three consecutive ones.

Headmaster at St Francis, David Lee, enthused “We love to hear from our alumni, and all the fun they have after St Francis. It is wonderful to share in their successes, and we have many teachers still at St Francis who taught Bertie, and his siblings, so this news is especially poignant for them. We are thrilled for Bertie, and look forward to hearing about his future successes, of which we have no doubt there will be many.”
