Wiltshire Cricket Success for St Francis School
Whilst January’s grey skies may make the sight of pristine cricket whites seem a far-flung dream, for some St Francis pupils they are dusting off their bats, and washing their whites in preparation for a season with the Wiltshire County Cricket Club.
Senior pupil, Will, who has previously captained his side (including once in an unbeaten season) has again been selected, this time for the U13 team. Year 6 pupil Alex and Year 5 pupil Toby have also been called up for the U11 and U10 sides respectively. Year 4 pupil Priya is the only girl from St Francis to join her peers in the U10 side.
Director of Sport at St Francis, Kevan Brown, enthused “This is a fantastic achievement for all the pupils, and we could not be more delighted to share in their successes. We are especially thrilled that Priya has been selected, as over the years there have been more opportunities for girls to play cricket and Priya’s success shows just how valuable this is. I look forward to watching the 3 boys and Priya’s upcoming games and their developing styles.”
